Professor Ian Walsh, Consultant Urologist

Professor Ian Walsh is a Consultant Urologist at Kingsbridge Healthcare Group in Belfast and Sligo, and Honorary Professor of   

Urology, Surgery and Psychosexual Medicine at Queen's University Belfast. He has wide in-depth expertise in urology and previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of California, where he completed a subspecialty fellowship in reconstructive and neuro-urology before returning to Belfast.  


Professor Walsh has specialized knowledge in functional urology, sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, bladder dysfunction, and psychosexual medicine. His focus on neuro-urology, human factors, patient safety, cognition, arts in medicine, and qualitative research has earned him a Master of Science degree with distinction. He has authored two theses and approximately 130 publications. Additionally, he has been conferred Senior Fellowship of The Higher Education Authority and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.


As Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Irish Association of Sexual Medicine and a founding member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons Society for Female, Neurological, and Urodynamic Urology, Professor Walsh plays a vital role in advancing urology care. He also served as Editor for The Journal of Psychosexual Medicine and Healthcare. His leadership extends to Healthcare Human Factors in Northern Ireland and Medical Humanities at Queen’s University Belfast and the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine.

Personal Profile:

Professor Walsh is a professional musician, trained as a multi-instrumentalist, and works as a music producer. He is also a professional writer, with both fiction and nonfiction published among his works. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.

Professor Helen Noble

Professor Helen Noble is a Professor of Nursing and Director of Clinical and Medicolegal Services at Urologik Ltd, where she oversees medicolegal services and remains actively involved in clinical practice. With a solid background in urology and renal care, she brings extensive expertise in urology care to her role. Additionally, she is a trained teacher of mindfulness, integrating mindful principles into healthcare education, leadership, and patient-centred practice, particularly addressing urological concerns. 


Professor Noble was awarded Eminent Scientist of the Year in 2009 and received the Donna Lamping MDT Research Award in 2023.

Anna Wilson

Anna is the Technology, Logistics, and Marketing Consultant at Urologik, where she provides essential web-based support for the team, particularly in areas related to urology care. With a passion for creating engaging digital content and user-friendly online experiences, she applies her skills to address urological concerns. With experience in website design, social media management, and digital marketing, Anna combines her technical know-how with a creative approach to projects, supporting urologists and enhancing the delivery of medicolegal services. 


In addition to her role at Urologik, Anna is also a Researcher at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen's University Belfast. Her research interests include exploring holistic support for the psychosocial needs of people living with long-term health conditions.

Ann McGowan

Ann trained as a legal secretary and went on to build a varied career through a wide range of secretarial roles, developing strong administrative skills and experience across different workplaces. She now works as an administrator at Urologik, where she plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the service, supporting the clinical team, managing administrative processes, and ensuring patients receive an efficient and professional experience. Living in Sligo, she has also recently become a grandmother for the first time, welcoming a baby boy into the family. 

Sarah McGowan

Sarah is a highly experienced musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist with a specialist interest in women’s health. She holds a BSc in Physiotherapy and a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Ulster University, and has worked across established private practices in Northern Ireland, as well as with a range of sporting teams. Sarah is also a qualified STOTT Pilates teacher and Body Balance Reformer instructor. 


In 2022, she founded Sarah McGowan Physiotherapy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, holistic care that empowers individuals to achieve their goals. Sarah works closely with the Urologik clinical team to support a person-centered approach to urology care.
